Dr. Samina Wahhab received her Associate of Arts degree from Simon's Rock
College in Great Barrington, MA and completed her Bachelor of Science at The
American University in Washington, DC. After participating in a graduate program
in marine biology through Northeastern University, she went on to earn her
Medical Degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA. After medical
school, she continued her medical training as a general surgery resident at
Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, PA. After three years in general surgery,
she continued on at Lehigh Valley Hospital as a plastic surgery resident for
another three years, completing her training in June, 2001. Dr. Wahhab completed
her board certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 2003.
While at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Dr Wahhab co-coordinated a research project
in which she studied recurrence of breast
cancer in patients who had had mastectomy and breast reconstruction. She
presented the results of her research at the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter
of The American College of Surgeon's meeting, the Northeastern Society of
Plastic Surgeon's meeting and the Plastic Surgery Senior Resident's meeting.
She remains very interested in the treatment of breast cancer and in breast
reconstruction.
When she is not at work, Dr. Wahhab enjoys spending time with her family.
She also enjoys running, hiking, and biking.
